With a couple of chefs from Mumbai and an immense tandoor oven, the menu selection at Imlee Restaurant in Pinecrest is as diverse as it gets. Authentic choices range from mainly North India but there are also some South Indian specialties on the menu. The décor is simple yet evokes the look of the country with draped rust colored cloths covering the ceiling, Indian-inspired art on the walls including a beaded and intricately detailed rug adorning one.
Featuring an immense menu, customers at Imlee can sample many of the items during the seven day all-you-can-eat lunch/weekend brunch buffet including a soup, a choice of appetizers, four to five entrees and a dessert. Each day the selections vary making it an a la carte experience. This buffet also helps diners determine their favorites that they can try as a full meal at dinner. The menu starts off with a guide to Indian cuisine and then proceeds with a tremendous selection of vegetarian, chicken and meat dishes as well as soups, rice dishes and bread or “naan” choices as well. The madras tomato soup is a popular starter, while entrees like chicken makhni, lamb biryani and the lamb rogan josh (lamb stew) that is a house specialty. Basmati rice and Indian style yogurt are good side choices. Wash this all down with refreshing mint lemonade or a mango lassi drink, the latter is made with their homemade yogurt, and for dessert the traditional falooda ice cream infused with rose syrup is a must.
