Description
Beach’s Crazee Olive is Quick, Healthy Mediterranean fare

By Josie Gulliksen

Following the recent trend of healthy alternatives to fast-food spots, Crazee Olive Mediterranean Grill on Miami Beach features a tasty menu of familiar favorites in an intimate and inviting environment. In just three weeks, the spot is a lunchtime stop for many folks working in neighboring businesses who can either take their meal to go or enjoy it in a friendly, homey atmosphere. Customers are greeted by a spiffy, modern blackboard showcasing the full menu with the signature flaming olive logo peeking out from the side. There’s a table for four, one for two and a few bar-style seats. A flat-screen television on the back wall, an innovative mural and elegant and petite hanging tiffany-inspired lighting complete the look.

The restaurant’s fresh, fun look spills onto the menu where all the items are prepared fresh on premises. The Crazee olive tapenade, a chunky, tasty concoction served with pita bread and the hummus, also served with pita bread, are great sellers. Fresh salads like the tabbouleh salad of parsley, mint, tomato, onion and bulgar wheat tossed with lemon vinaigrette or the fattoush salad of mixed greens tossed with tomatoes, radish, cucumber, peppers, onion and crispy pita bread tossed with sumac lemon vinaigrette are equally fine choices. And for entrees the beef shwarma is tasty strips of sliced beef served with tahini sauce or generous chunks of chicken prepared on a kabob, served with salad and pita bread. And for dessert, there’s freshly prepared classic baklava as well as a selection of cold treats.
